ABOUT MY TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

My name is Linda Sherrard and I am the owner of Hope & Healing Services, LLC in North Augusta, SC. I have been in private practice since 2018 and I have been a counselor since 2016. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina, an out-of-state telehealth provider for Florida, a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT), and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I hold a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a specialization in Christian Counseling from Liberty University. I am a member of the American Counseling Association, the American Association of Christian Counselors, and the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).

I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples diagnosed with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Complex Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD), Dissociation Identity Disorder (DID), schizophrenia, dependent personality disorder, grief and loss issues, substance abuse, and relationship issues. I provide individual, Christian, and trauma counseling for adults.

I am a Certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist. EMDR can be used in treating:

  • Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) resulting from abuse or other traumatic events

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Grief or Loss

  • Addictions

  • Feelings of Worthlessness

MY APPROACH TO COUNSELING

I believe the therapeutic relationship is based on mutual trust and respect. You need to feel comfortable and safe with me before you can talk about your past or current problems and situations. I encourage clients to find the strength and wisdom they need to face and heal from their past experiences, find solutions for their present situations, and the hope they need to believe they can have a better future.

I use many different approaches based on the client’s needs and preferences such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
