Individual Counseling

Individual counseling, also called therapy or psychotherapy, focuses on your needs in a safe, caring, confidential, and nonjudgmental environment. You’ll work one-on-one with your counselor to explore your beliefs, feelings, behaviors, hopes, dreams, and challenges to gain a better understanding of why you do the things you do, set goals, and work toward making the changes in your life you need to become more emotionally healthy.

Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is the result of experiencing or witnessing abuse or other types of traumatic experiences. Complex trauma often begins in childhood and can be the result of ongoing abuse or other traumatic events. Examples of complex trauma that began during childhood are being sexually or physically abused for years or by multiple offenders, severe neglect, or loss of a loved one. Examples that begin at any age of adulthood are being abused by a partner for years or by multiple partners, rape, betrayal trauma, or natural disasters.

EMDR Therapy


Trauma counseling through EMDR may help clients overcome the negative effects of traumatic events such as domestic or family violence, dating violence, community violence (shooting, mugging, burglary, assault, bullying), sexual or physical abuse, natural disaster (hurricane, flood, fire, earthquake), serious car accident sudden unexpected or violent death of someone close (suicide, murder, accident), serious injury (burn, dog attack), major surgery, life threatening illness (cancer or loss of limb, hearing, or eyesight), war, or political violence. EMDR is a counseling approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective with treating trauma survivors. It may help reduce negative feelings, nightmares, or flashbacks from traumatic events.

Partner Betrayal Trauma


A spouse or partner who is sexually betrayed can feel devastated and traumatized, often experiencing the symptoms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) due to the deception, lies, and unhealthy sexual behaviors of the sex addict. Sexual betrayal comes in many different forms such as sexual addiction, pornography addiction, infidelity, sexting, and sexual compulsivity. Betrayal cuts to the heart and partners often feel confused, angry, depressed, anxious, or hopeless. As a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT), helping partners heal from betrayal in a sensitive and caring environment is a priority and will focus on let to set and enforce healthy boundaries and increasing/improving self-care and coping techniques. Depression


Depression may be the result of living through traumatic events. It may also be caused by an event in life such as grief or loss. Whatever the cause of depression, we can work on coping strategies, self-care, and support.

Christian Counseling


Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on changing stinkin’ thinkin’ (unhealthy thoughts and thinking patters) to healthy, productive, growth-minded thinking. Thoughts become beliefs which become actions. You want to change what you do, change what you believe. You change what you believe by changing what you tell yourself. Anger Management

If you are mandated by the court or if you attorney recommends that you participate in an anger management program, I provide a 6-8 week course (depending on what your case requires) with a court-approved curriculum. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate that you may give to the court, your attorney, or your probation officer.
